This one day comprehensive course is dedicated to the presentation and training of prior art search within free public IPR databases as well as within technical literature databases. Different practical examples and exercises will be provided which might help to define freedom to operate areas and to differentiate possibly protectable own inventions to existing know-how.

Participants learn the professional usage of selected free of charge search tools in the world wide web (depatisnet, espacenet,…). Further considerations are correct interpretation of search results and postprocessing of data sets for optimum usage (legal status, prior art material, validity, patent families, …)
